It's final. Queen of Comedy Ai Ai delas Alas has been recognized as the Box Office Queen of 2010 by the 42nd Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Entertainment Awards.

Delas Alas, herself, shared her excitement on her latest achievement during an interview on popular Sunday show "The Buzz",

"Thank you God sa lahat ng blessing. At sa lahat ng sumusuporta sa akin lalo na ang Guillermo Mendoza," delas Alas said.

The foundation's Box Office Queen of 2010 prize became controversial after reports surfaced that supporters and the mother of actress and TV host Toni Gonzaga allegedly appealed that the latter be included in the list of those being considered for the award for her hit movie "My Amnesia Girl" with John Lloyd Cruz. Gonzaga, however, deniedthe reports.

"Minsan nga naisip ko bakit ayaw nilang tanggapin na ako ito. Siguro sanay tayo na nananalo sa industriya natin, na ang nananalo palagi Box office, Best Actress ay puro dramatic actress. Ngayon na lang na nanalo ako, na comedian ako," delas Alas replied when asked why intrigues hounded her getting the award.

Aside from delas Alas, Prince of Comedy Vic Sotto and senator and actor Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. are Guillermo Mendoza Awards’ 2010 Box Office Kings for their fantasy movie "Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote."

In December of last year, delas Alas won the Best Actress trophy at the 36th Metro Manila Film Festival for her Star Cinema's comedy film "Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last Na 'To).”

The foundation's awards night will be held on May 8 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium at the RCBC Plaza on Ayala Avenue in Makati City.
