A fashion designer that has the same name as me! ^_^

Yesterday I was browsing for more gadgets to put on my post, and I ran into a gadget for the site "stylelist.com" and saw my name on it! O.O So out of curiosity I clicked it and guess what? There's a designer with my EXACT name, and not only that I actually like her line of clothes!

It's also funny that they made a comment about pronouncing our name, since almost everyone I meet at first says my name wrong because of how it's spelled. ANYWAYS! I'm going off on a tangent again lol. Here's the article.

DESIGNER: Thuy Diep for Thuy

INSPIRATION: Vivid colors, playful layers, Londoners in out-of-the-way corners of the city, and a 19th-century entomology etching

WHO WAS THERE: Fern Mallis, senior vice president of IMG and the engine behind Fashion Week, Olivia Palermo, hairdresser and reality TV personality Tabatha Coffey, and drama-magnet Real Housewives Kelly Kiloren Bensimon, Alex McCord and Danielle Staub

TOP LOOKS:
A shimmery copper sleeveless minidress; a camel coat over a Dalmatian-spotted dress; a red-and-black patterned dress with fluttery panels on either side of the torso, which looked beautifully fluid as the model walked

ACCESSORIES: D-ring belts with long, dangling straps; gilt necklaces with chastity-belt locks; and soft brown handbags carried crushed in one hand. Above all, mink and fox fur: fluffy collars; elbow-length arm warmers; even foxtails flouncing at the hip.

WHAT WE THOUGHT: The designer's name is pronounced "twee," but the looks were far more strong than sweet.

One of the best elements in Thuy's runway show was her selection of fabrics. Swarovski crystal-embroidered paisley appliqués, a customized silk-screened insect print, shimmering jacquards, and splashes of topaz-gold, crimson and fuschia signaled autumn without falling into the standard jewel-tone rut.

In contrast to the strong-shoulder trend, Thuy drew attention to the pelvis, playing with volume with mixed results. Layers, pockets, folds and loops of fabric created interesting -- but sometimes distractingly bulky -- shapes around the hips and lower abdomen.

Thuy's fur trims and accessories underscore one of this season's Fashion Week trends. These styles seem to be on a five-year cycle; they recall the fox fur trims that were such a hit for Balenciaga and other designers in fall 2005.
