the lovely starr crow from a thought is the blossom and i have decided to pair up, and start a little outfit swap. i approached her right as i started tick tock vintage and asked if she'd be interested in participating; i'd send her a package, and she'd send me one, and we'd style the pieces. as i'm sure you know, her style is immaculate - she has the ability to make anything she wears romantic and dream-like, and her photographs are gorgeous. we both have a penchant for vintage dresses, so it's only fitting that we start off with one. my friend lois gave me this dress several months ago, and i wanted to wear it before i put it up in the shop - the print reminds me of a picnic basket or straw, and i think it's perfect for summer. i chose to stick with neutral colors for the belt and necklace, and bright turquoise shoes that would really stand out against the yellow.
two dames togged to the bricks - odd name, right? we wanted to choose something that evoked feelings of the past (in this case, the 1920's). a "dame" is the female version of a dandy: a man who put thought and effort into his appearance (among other things, like hobbies and leisure activities). "togged to the bricks" is 20's slang for dressed in your best clothing. put two and two together, and voila! the name for our new project.
i'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback on this collaboration! we're both super excited about it, and can't wait to share more outfits with you.
don't forget to go check out how starr styled this gorgeous dress!
