cycling gives you big calves!

dress: french connection
belt: vintage
shoes: loeffler randall

these shoes were easily one of the biggest splurges for me. i was at century21 (if you're in north jersey, i highly recommended visiting), a designer discount warehouse, when i saw these. it was love at first sight; the chunky heel, the soft pink color, the petals. i usually don't like to write about prices of what i wear, since we all have different budgets, but these were on mega-sale. they're usually $595 (eek!) and i got them for...$189. still pricey, but much, much more reasonable. i figure that they'll be good for teaching (sturdy heel) and i can still wear them in the winter with tights. i've only worn them this one time, since i don't want to bike to work in them and risk scratching the wooden heel. hopefully they'll make an appearance this weekend.

sidenote: whenever i buy something that i know i shouldn't be buying (clothing or shoes over $40), i make bryan listen to my justifications for buying it. i don't even know when i'm doing this anymore, but it drives him nuts. say, "but i can wear them year round! and it's a really really REALLY good deal! and my favorite color! and, uh, you like them! right?"

continuing on the whole good-deals trend, i've been a champ of eBay this week. i found chloe wedges for $60, and new-in-box marc jacobs heels for $30. woo-hoo!

i'll be heading out to rural pennsylvania this weekend (where i grew up) for some flea markets. i've been going to them ever since i was a kid, and i absolutely love it. my favorite takes place in a huge field, and tons of people come and set up little tables or blankets. there's no crazy mark-up in prices, and people have some amazing things. a lot of the items are from cleanouts or auctions; i love digging through huge boxes of victorian photographs, or 1940's cards. i'll be sure to snap some pictures!
