i have a good friend, bernadette, who happens to have the very fortunate job of being a designer for anthropologie. besides being incredibly talented, she's also super generous. whenever anthropologie has sample sales, or extra clothing lying around, she picks something up for me. remember that darling little cloche hat i frequently wear? another bernadette find. this lovely little peplum jacket was something she picked up at the 2009 winter sample sale. while i really loved the way it looks, i never knew how to style it. i could see it looking cute with a pair of dark jeans, but i'm not one to wear pants. i wanted to make sure that i kept the defined waist - and i think keeping it untucked really emphasized this. the soft pleats and chiffon layers of this skirt were perfect with the structured top.

do you ever find a piece hard to style, and then it suddenly clicks?

as i stopped in for a fitting yesterday, i snapped a picture of my wedding dress (with me in it). it's coming up next!

ps - can you spot the bike grease stain on my leg? oh so pretty, right?
