i am absolutely in love with this little floral print blouse. i found it while thrifting a couple of weeks ago, and completely forgot it until i pulled it out of the laundry this morning. the detail is just amazing; i love the lace edging, pearl buttons, and ruffles. did you see how adorable the sleeves are? they were slightly messed up while bryan was taking pictures, but they're split in the middle, and then overlap; very fluttery and feminine.

i feel like my life is finally getting back in order! i'm mailing out the invites today, and all 100 napkins are now pressed and pinned. i just found out that i'm going to be teaching 4th grade in the fall, and even though it's not really the grade that i wanted, i'm super excited. i did get the school that i wanted to teach in, but i would have preferred kindergarten or first grade. i haven't been in a classroom environment, well, since elementary school - and i can't say i remember much of what went on, anyway. i read so much that i had difficulty distinguishing between what i read and what was reality, and i never paid attention in class; i always had a book hidden under my desk (usually something from the little house on the prairie collection). i honestly can't even remember any of my teacher's names! it will be interesting to try to apply everything i've been learning in my education classes to a real-life set of kids (as opposed to my 20-something classmates playing the part).

what do you remember about elementary school? any particularly good memories? what were some characteristics of your favorite teachers?
