this is currently the status of my living room.

i wanted to get a chance to post over the weekend, but i've been so insanely swamped with wedding stuff that it actually took me awhile to dig my computer out from under a pile of doilies this morning. i had several friends over for wedding crafting on sunday, where we did all (but not limited to) the following:
- cut 100 fabric napkins (1/2 of which are ironed and ready to be hemmed)
- gocco-ed all of the aforementioned napkins
- gocco-ed 250 cocktail napkins
- addressed our antique postcards, which will serve as our guestbook
- began sewing the doily table runners
- washed out antique bottles
- made address labels for the invites
- stuffed envelopes
- printed wedding menus

thank goodness they were able to help out. bernadette (the anthropologie designer) is amazing at anything detail-oriented. she worked on the runner for 3 hours, and it looks stunning. julia, who's in school for fashion design, cut all of the napkins - they're seriously perfect and exactly the same size. jen is one of the most talented graphic designers i've ever met and made our address labels and menus match the invites perfectly. jana, who is amazing at illustration, drew the heart logo that we've been using on everything - and even though she just got in a bike accident and hurt her hand, goccoed hundreds of napkins. i literally have no idea what i'd do without their help.

needless to say, my living room is a complete and total disaster. there is fabric everywhere, and it's not helping that there's a giant bar in the middle of the room. bryan and i couldn't find a bar that wasn't plastic and on rollers, so he decided to make one. he's pretty talented with woodworking (he made all of our radiator covers) and made something 10x better than i imagined. it's gorgeous, and he stained it with an antique glaze. as soon as i can get a good picture i'll post one.

without further ado...my living room:

pretty ridiculous, right? here's what the napkins look liked (imagine without wrinkles):

and the menu will get tucked into the little pocket that the napkin is forming:

now i will return to ironing tons. and tons. of napkins.
