belt: forever21
earrings: forever21
shoes: kors by michael kors
nailpolish: skin food - my sister brought it back with her from hong kong. i love it!
i absolutely love discount stores - century21, loehmann's, off saks, filene's basement, you name it, and i've probably been there. i absolutely hate paying full price for anything (even cheap-o stuff from forever21; i never shop online unless i can find a coupon code). as you've probably noticed, i have a major shoe obsession - one i couldn't support buying shoes full price. i think some of my best deals have been the marc jacobs heels for $30, or the chloe shoes for $60 (i actually found the same chloe shoes in off saks this weekend for $395, marked down from $600 craziness!).
as i was helping my grandma find a dress for the wedding this weekend, we popped in off saks to find her a pair of shoes. i absolutely fell in love with these. they're sensible enough for teaching, but the gold platform makes them a little less boring. they were, of course, super-super discounted and i thought they'd make a nice present to myself for staying at my job for 6 months longer than i wanted to. my pomeranian, ollie, is actually afraid of them. i think he can see his reflection in the platform and runs away and hides whenever he sees them.
you've probably heard all of the east coast bloggers complaining about the heat. it's been brutal. we reached 103 degrees in philadelphia yesterday, with the inside of my house being 99 degrees. since we don't have central air (most homes built in 1930 don't have it, unfortunately), we've been putting the pups and rabbit in my office with a small window unit. did you know that rabbits are extremely sensitive to heat changes? they don't handle temperatures higher than 75 degrees very well.
what are you doing to stay cool?
