dress: modcloth super-sale
shoes: loeffler randall
i decided not to wear that white dress with the rose print, because i totally forgot that i had this pretty little dress in the back of my closet. it's from modcloth's giant sale a couple of months ago. i love the layers of fabric on the bodice, and the sheerness of the fabric...and i don't have to worry about offending the bride!
bryan and i made a whole day trip out of the wedding. the reception and ceremony were in pennsylvania dutch country, right outside of kutztown (you may remember kutztown from this post). it's about 1.5 hours away from us, so we wanted to visit as much as we coule. we decided to stop at the flea markets in boyertown. the particular flea market i like is open saturday and sunday, but most of the vendors go sunday. there aren't many thrift stores in the area, but there is one in pottstown that i've always found neat things at - and yesterday was no exception. i found the most gorgeous dress i've thrifted to date; i'll be sure to take a couple of pictures tonight. we then headed up to allentown, an hour or so away. i haven't thrifted much up there before, but we definitely hit the jackpot at a couple of stores: burgandy leather blazers, 1960's swimsuits, 1950's sundresses, and floral maxi dresses. for lunch, bryan and i headed to allentown beer works (he's a big beer snob and i wanted to find someplace that had good beer after he had been so helpful being my shopping cart at the thrift stores all morning). the food wasn't anything special, but the beer was pretty delicious.
we snapped these pictures in the town of hamburg, right outside of lenhartsville (where the wedding took place). there were some abandoned old trains right next to us, but the drop was really steep and i wasn't about to risk breaking my ankles for a picture. isn't the wall color gorgeous? i used to have my entire living room painted this peachy-pink, but it got a bit overwhelming after 2 years.
any fun and exciting things happen this weekend? i have a bunch of wedding projects to show you, i just have to tie some loose ends up. we made program fans and they look absolutely gorgeous.
