bryan and i needed some shutters. shutters, you say? whatever would you need shutters for? i'm glad you asked. this is just one of our (semi?) nutty wedding ideas. we need to somehow block the view of the reception area (one of the gardens at our venue) from the cocktail hour area. i started researching room dividers, and turns out that they're either a) ugly or b) ungodly expensive. i said to myself, "self, you really need to think outside the box here. think. THINK!". so i came up with the idea of using tall antique shutters; they kind of jive with out vintage-chic-romantic-garden-party wedding. i did some researching and turns out that they're pretty darn expensive; think 60+ dollars...a shutter. we need about 6. i searched on crazedlist for towns nearby philadelphia, and found a man in salem, NJ selling each shutter for $10. perfect!
we passed some of the most gorgeous farms i've ever seen in my life - even prettier than some of the old plantations in richmond. the farmhouses were in beautiful condition, and i was told by the man we bought the shutters from that some of them even decorate with period-accurate furniture. the downtown area was going through a revitalization, but the exteriors of the homes and shops were just beautiful. it was obvious that people put a lot of pride into the care of their home. if you're anywhere nearby, or making a trip to the beach, i really recommend stopping by.
ps: i hear my banner is misbehaving. i'm not 100% sure what's going on because it's fine for me, but i think you might need to clear your cache.
