i've spent last night working on packing presents for my bridesmaids and friends. it was difficult to find something for them that wasn't a "typical" present (i wanted something that they would be able to use again, and that reflected their personalities - not a tote bag with their initial on it or a framed picture of us). almost all of the girls, bridesmaids or not are wearing all sorts of gorgeous pale pink dresses. i thought that a little formal beaded clutch would be a perfect present. it's something that they can use on the day of, but also can use time and time again. i've been collecting them over the past several months and i found some that i think they'll really love. i also bought them statement necklaces that matched their dresses - they're all similar in color but are all different lengths and colors and sizes. i also put in some gel shoe inserts and blotting papers and lip glosses.

see those keys? they're our seating chart. each skeleton key has a little tag with the guest's name and table number. and of course, it took about 3 times longer to make than i expected it to. they keys were in pretty rough shape when i found them; completely covered in rust and dirt and grime. i scrubbed them with dishsoap and soaked them in CLR, then used baker's twine to attach the key to the tag.
