this might be the most effort i've put into my hair, well, ever. i was on my 3rd (or was it 4th?) episode of law & order a couple of nights ago and realized that i should probably get off of the couch and do something productive. whhhhicch in my mind was trying to put my hair into a beehive. after a ton of teasing, almost all of the bobby pins available in my house, and absolutely no hairspray (i don't own any), i actually got something that didn't look awful or lopsided or ridiculous. i don't have pictures from the first day i wore it, but here it is a day later. it's kind of amazing how it stays even when sleeping and changing clothes and such.

i am so excited about this weekend. bryan and i are heading to the oley county fair today; it's this amazing traditional pennsylvania dutch/german fair with tons of cooking contests (best apple pie, best strawberry jelly, etc.), 4H competitions (lots of farm animals that you can pet!), and delicious fried foods. there aren't any cheesy midway games or junky vendors, which i definitely appreciate. expect to see pictures tomorrow!
