Beetle Station

I'll be honest here...I've been eating out a lot lately due to people treating me for the holidays, but I've either been unimpressed by the food (not worth writing about) or I forgot to bring my camera. So, I should really have more food-related entries but...sorry.

This may seem like a filler entry, but I think this information may be useful to some. The best place to buy exotic bugs and pets is Mongkok...ah...I remember the days when my brother used to ask me to buy tarantulas for him, and I'd have to smuggle them in my luggage.

Let's just say that if I had any arachnophobia, I had to get over it quick when one of the tarantulas escaped and wilded out in my suitcase. I was so terrified it would pop up and bite the customs officer who was going through my stuff.

Anyway, Beetle Station doesn't do tarantulas (that will be a future entry). They focus only on stag beetles.

There is a big-ass stag beetle hiding under that piece of whatever it is. It's like that scene in Lord of the Rings with the hobbits hiding from those goth horsemen.

Alamak! Isn't it kind of horrible to see dead stag beetles next to terrariums with live beetles? It's like being a fox and seeing a taxidermied fox next to your cage, you know?

Beetle station is on Jervois Street in Sheung Wan. It's at the very end of the street.
