Another Day to Dress Up
Hello lovely Tick Tock Vintage readers. This is Megan from Another Day to Dress Up. When Veronika asked me to guest blog I was thrilled - this is my first guest blogging experience! Then, when she told me that she me to post about a favorite vacation or a tour of my town, I was even more exited. After living in Orange County, CA for seven years, as of recently, I now hail in my hometown of Park City, Utah. Many of you have heard of Park City through its three top rated ski resorts, or as the home of the Sundance Film Festival, but I’m delighted today to show you the town through my eyes with a few of my favorite places to go and things to do. I hope you enjoy. And I'm going to apologize in advance for the picture overload- I just couldn't help myself!
Flat Rabbet Gallery
This is one of my absolute favorite shops on main street. It's crammed from floor to ceiling with beautiful vintage posters. Whether you are looking for a 1930's Vogue cover or an original Jules Cheret, you will find it here. But since I'm a girl on a budget, I love wandering around and picking through everything. The inspiration I find here is staggering!
Park City Library/ Park City Movie Series
Origionally the Park City High School, this building was converted into the Library in 1993. Besides being an amazing example of late 1800's architecture ,The Park City Movie Series is hosted here on a weekly basis. The Movie Series focuses on independent films that would otherwise not be see in commercial theaters. And let me tell you, I have seen a bunch of amazing films through the series. Many being Sundance Film Fesival favorites that I was never able to get tickets to when they premiered!
High West Distillary and Saloon
Not only is this the only distillary in Utah, they make damn good whiskey! Besides their award winning whiskey they also distill vodka and white whiskey AKA moonshine. High West is no doubt one of the best places in town to grab a drink, and to top it off the atmosphere is killer.
Kimball Art's Center
Known to many as the hub of the Sundance Film festival, the Kimball Art's center also hosts art classes and artist exhibits. Just last week there was an entire exhibit dedicated to shoes - I know you all would appreciate that. And the best part- the admission is always 100% free, you can't argue with that!
Old Town
Old town boasts main street as it's main destination, but if you take a minute to travel off of the beaten path you will see some amazing sights. I drive around old town on a weekly basis and admire the architecture. Many of the buildings in this district are considered historical and it's so amazing to see these 100+ year old buildings polished up and cherished. If only I could snatch up a rental property up here!
