when i saw this dress while thrifting several weeks ago, i immediately fell in love with the color and the sleeves. the length was sort of ridiculous (think floor length) and a bit overwhelming. i've given myself a new rule - no purchasing thrifted items that need to be altered (my mending basked it out. of. control.) but i wouldn't pass this up. after quickly hemming it and giving it a good steaming, it's become one of my favorite dresses. the draped sleeves sort of remind me of a cape, no? anywho, i like it!

the job fair yesterday was complete insanity. my friend amanda and i left philadelphia about two hours early to make sure that we didn't hit traffic, and to secure an early spot in line. turns out that, oh, 100 or so other people had the same idea. right at 9 o'clock, there was a mad dash into the hall; people were running every direction to try to be the first person in line at a certain school's table. i was able to speak to a couple of schools that were located in philadelphia (where i want to teach) so i'd call the day a success.

any plans for this weekend? i actually have some (big!) news to share tomorrow!
