i know i've been wearing these shoes non-stop lately, but they're just so comfortable and they go with everything. these socks were a new purchase from american apparel on my trip to new york; steph works there and gets a pretty awesome discount (50% off!), and was nice enough to hook me up. thanks, lady!

i've been taking advantage of the nice weather that we've been having in philadelphia by not wearing stockings, going for long runs, and airing the house out on a daily basis. today is particularly nice - it's already 57 degrees! thankfully, i'm not subbing and will be able to spend most of the day outside. whenever it's nice out and i'm inside teaching, it makes me feel like i'm 10 years old again, staring at the clock and wishing that 3 o'clock would come faster.

ps: the clothing swap is this weekend, and i'll be selling what's left of my vintage stock there. this is the last week that you'll be able to shop my etsy store with the 50% off coupon - be sure to use coupon code CLEANHOUSE when you're checking out.

i dug this dress out of the grossest, smelliest, funkiest house in the spring. it was at an estate sale at a house in west philadelphia; the home was filled floor to ceiling with the most random assortment of stuff i've ever seen. the owner was an old man who had recently passed away and collected everything. there were religious figurines, tools, kitchen appliances, gongs - you get the idea. adorable 60's dresses were the last thing i thought i'd find there, but lo and behold, the bedroom closet was stuffed with them. i carefully cleaned and repaired them, and placed most in my shop - except for this beauty. lace and polka dots? you know i can't pass that up.

um, so it's freezing here. i don't know how winter snuck up without me realizing it. i haven't really figured out the whole picture-posting-in-the-winter thing, since i started this blog in april, just when it was getting warm. my house is too dark for pictures and the animals feel it necessary to run in front of the camera. i have to do it first thing in the morning because it's too dark by the time bryan gets home from work - when it's the absolute coldest.

seasoned outfit-posters - any hints? ideas? just suck it up and get it over with?
