Valenzuela City councilor Shalani Soledad on Monday expressed her support for controversial host Willie Revillame.

Revillame has drawn flak from Social Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman, Commission on Human Rights chief Loretta Ann Rosales, fellow performers and citizens due to an alleged child abuse incident in his show "Willing Willie" involving a 6-year-old boy, "Jan-jan" who did a "lewd" dance in exchange for P10,000.

In an interview, Soledad said she supports Revillame all the way, and hopes that the latter will still continue to help Filipinos by going back to his show.

After major advertisers pulled out from "Willie Willie," Revillame announced last Friday that he would take a 2-week break and think about whether to return to the show.

He vehemently denied abusing "Jan-jan," saying that he is the one helping the boy and his family by giving them what they need: money.

Soledad also appealed to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to fully investigate the incident before making a judgment on whether to impose sanctions.

She also shared that her wish for her upcoming birthday on April 27 is for "Willing Willie" to return on air.

The former girlfriend of President Aquino said she will be focusing on the needs of her constituents in Valenzuela City, now that "Willing Willie" will be taking a break.

The MTRCB is currently investigating the alleged child abuse incident.
