while we were in the poconos, bryan and i picked up tons of sparklers and fireworks (i think we have about 400 sparklers). our friend jonathan was having a memorial day barbecue, and we thought sparkler-writing would be fun. if you haven't done this before, you should definitely try it - it's super easy to do. just set the shutter speed to very, very slow (i believe we had it open for 3-4 seconds). make sure the camera is held very still, and then run around and do your thang with the sparklers. we tried writing words, running around, and drawing shapes. i think i like the third picture the best - that's when all four of us ran around jumping and dancing. it looks like noone was even there!magic, i tell you.
