this is one of my newest thrifting purchases. on our camping trip last weekend (there will be a post about that coming up!), i planned out five thrift stores that were right on our way. i've been looking for fitted, high-waisted skirts that are in fall-time colors, and this was just perfect. it's a bit too snug to wear to school, but totally appropriate for going out to dinner (bryan and i went to brauhaus schmitz). i have a feeling this is going to be my uniform for fall - a high waisted skirt in a textured fabric, patterned stockings, and lace-up shoes.

things have been crazy around the house recently. student teaching has completely taken over my life: my sewing basket is piling up, thank you notes are going unwritten, and my floors are in need of a good scrubbing (thrilling, i know). as much as i love my class, i can't wait for december 8th to come so i can finally. just. sit. perhaps craft a bit, thrift a little more, and bake cookies to my heart's content.

i've been thinking about going out to ohio over thanksgiving to visit my grandmother and godfather. we usually go there every year, but i didn't think it was possible with all of the work i have to do. i think i'll need a break from everything, and there's nothing better than the wide open roads of ohio (and the thrifting). hopefully i'll get to work in a new york city trip, too.

has has fall been treating you so far?
