Mariel Rodriguez Denies Gap with Grandparents

Despite all the good things that’s currently happening to Mariel Rodriguez’s career, she is now hunted by an intrigue claiming that her grandparents feel rejected because of her hectic schedule.

Reports claim that ever since Rodriguez got married to action star Robin Padilla and made a comeback in show business, she lost quality time with her family.

The 26-year old actress, however, was quick to deny the rumor.

In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon” during the special screening of “Tum: My Pledge of Love” at Shangri-La Plaza on Thursday night, Rodriguez clarified that all is well between her and her grandparents.

“Hindi. Of course not. Nagpunta pa ako sa hospital noong nagkasakit si lola. Dati pa rin. Sobra silang walang tampo,” she said.

Rodriguez and Padilla are now busy preparing for the upcoming play date of “Tum: My Pledge of Love,” their first movie together.

Asked if she is nervous about viewers’ feedback about their movie, Rodriguez said: “Ako sobra lang akong excited kasi finally makikita na nila number one ‘yong ginawa namin sa India. Mashi-share namin kasi India is so much part of us eh. So we get to share that to everyone.”

More than the anxiety, Rodriguez disclosed that she is eager for people to see what their movie has to offer.

“We really want to give them something special. Hindi ‘yong regular na napapanood nila. It’s a different viewing experience,” she said.

“Tum: My Pledge of Love” will hit the big screens nationwide on April 6.
