Actress and television host Mariel Rodriguez has dismissed speculations that she is already unenthusiastic about her hosting job on ABS-CBN’s noontime show “Happy Yipee Yehey” and just wants to be a fulltime housewife.

In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Rodriguez clarified that she is grateful for her work.

“Hindi naman sa tinatamad akong mag-work, no. Work is a blessing. Hindi naman namin gusto na hindi ako magtrabaho,” she said.

Rodriguez, however, said that her main priority is her husband, actor Robin Padilla.

“He knows that he’s my priority kasi eh. So whenever he needs me, whatever it may be, I will be there for him. Kumbaga siya pa rin ang number one na priority ko. Everything follows,” said the TV host.

Meanwhile, the couple decided not to mind negative articles about their movie “Tum: My Pledge of Love.” Some reports are questioning the movie's earnings.

Rodriguez said she and Padilla are glad that they are continuously receiving good reviews about “Tum.”

“Actually we don’t talk about those things. We are not affected by those things kasi ang iniisip namin is the reaction of the people who watched it,” she revealed.

“So far, we are so blessed kasi napakagaganda ng mga sinasabi ng mga nakanood. Kaya talagang abot langit ang aming pasasalamat. Thank you so much,” Rodriguez added.

Mariel Rodriguez Denies Gap with Grandparents

Despite all the good things that’s currently happening to Mariel Rodriguez’s career, she is now hunted by an intrigue claiming that her grandparents feel rejected because of her hectic schedule.

Reports claim that ever since Rodriguez got married to action star Robin Padilla and made a comeback in show business, she lost quality time with her family.

The 26-year old actress, however, was quick to deny the rumor.

In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon” during the special screening of “Tum: My Pledge of Love” at Shangri-La Plaza on Thursday night, Rodriguez clarified that all is well between her and her grandparents.

“Hindi. Of course not. Nagpunta pa ako sa hospital noong nagkasakit si lola. Dati pa rin. Sobra silang walang tampo,” she said.

Rodriguez and Padilla are now busy preparing for the upcoming play date of “Tum: My Pledge of Love,” their first movie together.

Asked if she is nervous about viewers’ feedback about their movie, Rodriguez said: “Ako sobra lang akong excited kasi finally makikita na nila number one ‘yong ginawa namin sa India. Mashi-share namin kasi India is so much part of us eh. So we get to share that to everyone.”

More than the anxiety, Rodriguez disclosed that she is eager for people to see what their movie has to offer.

“We really want to give them something special. Hindi ‘yong regular na napapanood nila. It’s a different viewing experience,” she said.

“Tum: My Pledge of Love” will hit the big screens nationwide on April 6.

Mariel Rodriguez, Robin Padilla's Catholic Wedding Set in June

Celebrity couple Mariel Rodriguez and Robin Padilla will have their second wedding in June of this year.

In a press conference for "Tum, My Pledge of Love" on Saturday, the 2 stars, who had a secret wedding in India, announced that Rodriguez will be a “June bride.”

"Gusto ko maging June bride siya," said Padilla.

Rodriguez and Padilla initially planned to tie the knot on February 14, but decided to move it to a later date to give way to their upcoming movie.

"Hindi umabot noong galing sa India. Ito naman pong dapat Valentine's Day, kami ay nabigla sa play date namin kaya po hindi namin nabigyan ng sapat na atensyon 'yon," Padilla said.

Meantime, the veteran action star assured that they will not keep their upcoming Catholic wedding a secret.

"Sa pagkakataong ito, ayaw na namin na kami lang ang nakakaalam kasi ayaw na naming may magtampo. Gusto namin sa pagkakataong ito, ‘yong kasal namin sa simbahan ay lahat kayo ay nandoon," he added.

When pressed for other wedding details, however, Padilla said: "Meron na kaming [venue ng wedding pero] sorpresa ko sa kanya 'yon, huwag na muna."

Is Mariel Jealous Of Bea?

Is actress-host Mariel Rodriguez being overly possessive of husband Robin Padilla?

According to reports, Rodriguez is “heavily guarding” Padilla by frequenting the set of the action star’s newest television series, “Guns and Roses.” Padilla is paired with Bea Alonzo in the upcoming TV show. He personally picked Alonzo to be his next leading lady.

During a press conference for noontime show "Happy Yipee Yehey!," Rodriguez disputed the reports.

"Nakita ninyo na ako, nagpunta na ako doon? I think respeto na lang kay Bea, I respect Bea, I respect her and I respect Robin's work," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez even stressed that she has not seen Alonzo since her project with Padilla started.

Alonzo is now being romantically linked to Zanjoe Marudo, who is the former boyfriend of Rodriguez.

"No I haven't seen her. Excited ako actually for ‘Guns and Roses,’" the actress said.

New show

Rodriguez said she is excited to be part of "Happy Yipee Yehey!"

The actress has missed hosting a noontime program after taking an indefinite leave from ABS-CBN's defunct noontime show "Pilipinas Win na Win."

"Kasi iba talaga ang energy ng isang noontime show kaya masaya ako dahil once again magagawa ko ito. Na-miss ko lang talaga yong saya na it brings," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez is co-hosting the show with Bianca Manalo, Melai Cantiveros, Randy Santiago, John Estrada and Toni Gonzaga.

"Excited talaga kami. Alam mo kuwela si Bianca, nae-excite akong makasama siya everyday. Si Melai busy lang pero kwela, masaya siya," Rodriguez added.

The actress said viewers should watch for the show's newest games and exciting segments.
