Maybelline 'The Eraser' Foundation Review - Ivory 010

I saw the adverts for the new Maybelline 'The Eraser' foundation, i was sucked in immediately and had to try it! I always use Estee Lauder Double Wear but for everyday when I'm at home or not doing much i like to wear a lighter foundation.

It comes with a large round (furry) sponge tip applicator, you need to click the tube quite a few times before any product comes out. The application is soft, it's a little streaky and needs to be done carefully.
I really liked the results, i chose Ivory which i think is the lightest shade. For winter this colour is perfect for me, although it's not as pale as Ivory should be (I never get the lightest shades of foundation).

It covered my blemishes well considering it's so light and sheer. It feels quite greasy on the skin but once set with powder it looks great and doesn't look greasy as the day goes on.

What they say:
  • Patented Micro-Corrector Applicator micro-fills and smoothes imperfections on skin's surface
  • Super-concentrated formula with Goji berry and collagen tightens & improves skin elasticity
  • SPF 18 sunscreen helps protect skin from sun damage
  • Clinically proven effectiveness.
  • 7 years of research, 5 patents, doesn’t just cover; after 8 weeks of use reduces imperfections without makeup on.
For an everyday or even base coat foundation i would recommend it.

RRP: £8.99

Product Rave: Face Atelier Ultra Foundation, Cruelty Free Gorgeousness!

Face Atelier is my product rave of the moment! I absolutely adore this foundation. I personally prefer matte full coverage foundation, although this is not like that so i was quite surprised at how much i loved it. It has great coverage but it's not 'cakey', it feels silky and blends easily.  It can be built up for a more matte coverage.

My shade is 'Wheat', i originally sampled 'Sand' but now winter has started to set in, this shade is much more suited to my paler skin.
As you can see from the above photo my skin looks smoother and my completion has become much more even without looking 'caked'.
Face Atelier is cruelty free which makes me so happy! I am so pleased that not only is it a fantastic foundation but not one animal was harmed in the making. Kudos to you FaceAtelier!! You can read up more about it on Peta.org
It comes with a designer price tag of £32 for 30ml, but a little goes a really long way. I can see this lasting me months and months. It really is worth it, for me anyway as i use it everyday.
Have you tried it? What do you think?

Eve Pearl Make-Up

I was recently introduced to Eve Pearl make-up by the lovely Holly (Yummy Mummy Beauty Blog), she recommended the Salmon concealer. I had a look around the internet and it's hard to find unless you buy from the actual website in the US www.evepearl.com/products. I was browsing through ebay and thought i would search for the concealer, when i came across someone who was selling a whole bunch of unused Eve Pearl make-up in the UK! After a bidding war i managed to get all these products fro £40!!!! Massive bargain :)

First up i will tell you my thoughts on the popular 'Salmon Concealer', The consistency is lovely, is smoothes on and doesn't sink into creases once set with powder. The colour is perfect, the pink/peach tones help to cancel out dark circles.
RRP: $35

HD Duel Foundation seemed to be a great foundation but by the end of the day i felt it looked quite dry. I would recommend applying more moisturiser before applying it, as it does look great when first applied. It gives that matte effect and covers evenly.
What they say: A multi-functional High Definition Dual Foundation applied with fingers, a brush, or a sponge (included). The luxurious lightweight cream provides full coverage with a non-greasy texture that glides on the face, while allowing your skin to breathe. The 2 shades of foundation blend into the skin and the universal spectrum of color in the pigments adapt to the skin tone and the changes caused by body chemistry, weather and sun exposure. Ideal for use when flawless precision is required with High Definition Cameras or real life. For all skin types, including sensitive skin.
RRP: $54

I was so impressed with the 'Glamour Lash Mascara', the brush is fab and leaves no clumping at all really. It separates the lashes and extends them. I actually prefer this to my Estee Lauder double wear mascara! As this one also doesn't flake and leaves the lashes a lot less clumpy.
What they say: A beautiful black lengthening and volumizing mascara with "Glamorous" results.
Enriched with jet-black micro-fine fibers and formulated to create maximum lash extension effects.
RRP: $22
Eve Pearls Blush Trio in 'Sweet Cheeks' is lovely. The colours when mixed together leave a pretty subtle bronzed pink. They are very soft and powdery and the staying power is great. I love the fact you can use all of them at once of just one depending whether your feeling blush or bronzer on that day :)
What they say: Trio of 2 Matte colors: Peachy + Pinky with a light illuminating Bronzer for gorgeous effects. The rich textured formula blends perfectly on your skin for long lasting wear. The 3 cheek color combination is versatile for every day natural looking cheeks or those dramatic hot steamy nights.
RRP: $36
(sorry the swatches aren't in the right order)
The 'Au Natural' eye pallet is lovely, the colours are exactly what i would wear on a daily basis. They have great pigmentation and feel very soft when applied.
What they say: The rich textured formula blends perfectly on your skin for long lasting wear. The 6 eye shadow combinations are versatile to take you from Matte to Pearl-EYE-zed effects. Colors include: Caramel Crisp, Cafe Latte, White Russian, Coco, Nutmeg, Tiramisu.
RRP: $40

Kisses of pearl lip gloss combo 'Wet Kisses' is a great lippy but unfortunately not a colour is would use so i will probably sell it on. It has a lovely fresh mint smell which is really refreshing.
I want to try it in Baby Doll/Honey Bunny.
RRP: $28

My only downside is the packaging, they have that 'lip' that you need to stick your nail under to open - which is bad news if you have nails because it can easily break them and it's also bad news if you have short nails as you can't open them, so i just stick something in it to open it. That is my only downside and it really isn't a big deal, just watch your nails :)
That's everything i got and i am so impressed with it all! It's high class make-up and definitely worth it.

Have you tried Eve Pearl make-up?

Sheer Cover

Before i start i just want to say that the colour i chose was completely wrong - gutted :(
I always choose medium because my skin isn't that fair but it's not that tanned either, medium is usually just right...they come in 4 different shades - light, medium, tan and dark. Shade 2 is usually perfect for me but this medium is more of a tan unfortunately and before you can really realise this you have to open it.

I purchased the Sheer Cover® 30-Day Introductory Kit - which does offer quite a lot :-
2 x Mineral Foundation in two shades (1.5g each)
Duo Concealer in two shades (1.5g)
Extra-Length Mascara (4ml)
Conditioning Cleanser (60ml)
Nourishing Moisturiser with SPF15 (30ml)
BONUS GIFTS with your order:
4 Studio Quality Makeup Brushes
Sheer Colour® Compact
Lip to Lid Highlighter Sampler Card
Sheer Cover® Tips & Tricks DVD

First i will show you the concealer and how it looks:-
I do quite like it, the consistency is perfect, it smooths on so nicely - but it tends to build up in creases which i hate!(see below pic) I was really disappointed by that as everything else about it was really great.

As you can see the concealer has built up in my eye crease, it was the same on my eyelid :(

They come with two different shades, the lighter colour matches my face fine I'm not sure why my hands look see-through - it's pretty cold in my house!

Now for the foundation. I'm sure you have all seen the Sheer cover advert where they apply this powder and their skin looks flawless, well it kind of does that! It has a really weird consistency, it looks like a powder but when applied feels more like a heavy foundation - which i wasn't expecting at all.
I did a swatch test, i drew a dot with my eyebrow pencil then put the sheer cover on to see how it worked and i think it worked pretty well. If that was a little spot i think it would camouflage it perfectly. Talking of spots the only downside was the fact it made me break out in them! I rarely get spots and after using this i had a few. I think it has something to do with the very greasy feel it leaves and at the end of the day that is visible - a la shiny face!

Here are the results (when first applied) - it is completely the wrong colour but for some reason my face looks very pale which it isn't normally that colour :/
It does make my skin look pretty flawless but you can see where it sinks into my pours. I think the fact that it makes me look so much more tanned makes it look better.

I paid £29.99 for this and for everything you get it's a pretty good price but i am disappointed. After seeing those amazing infomercials i was expecting some kind of magic powder. If it was in my colour i would definitely wear it sometimes - but the fact it makes me break out means i won't (vicious circle!).

I got mine here sheercover.co.uk

Has anyone else tried it?

My Top 12 Make-Up Products

I wanted to share my favorite make-up products with you. These are the items that i usually wear every single day, and couldn't live without!

First up is 'Dior Skin Shimmer Powder'. I love this, the colour is beautiful! I use it on my cheek bones and brow bone. It leaves a subtle golden highlight. It lasts forever, i had this for over a year and it's still going strong. I use 'Amber shimmer'.

Max Factor Facefinity is my all time favorite product, i recommend to everyone! When put on over liquid foundation it gives your skin that 'airbrush' finish (honestly!), it feels lightweight but gives a great coverage. It also keeps your foundation in place all day. I can't rave about this enough! I use '06 Golden'.

I haven't used Benefit Hoola for that long, i recently twittered asking which bronzer was the best and most of you recommended this....and you were right! I love it, when applied it gives a lovely tanned finish. It doesn't look orange at all. It can look quite muddy if too much is applied. I do really like it, i have used a lot of bronzers in my time and this is by far the best!

I always use white eye liner on my water line, i love how it opens up the eye. I have always used white liner and have always been unimpressed with how they work, most of them barely come out when applied to the water line. I used to have to use a lighter to heat up the ends to make it show up on my eye! After coming across NYX Jumbo pencils i no longer need to do that, they come out amazingly and are so well pigmented. They are really hard to get hold of in the UK, but if you can get one i would highly recommend them!

I wear liquid eyeliner everyday without fail. I have worn it since i started wearing make-up! It really widens the eye. I am really fussy about the brush, i hate those super skinny ones that are quite long and bend easily. I like them to be thick and sturdy, i find it much easier to apply it with a thicker brush. I came across Barry M liquid liner over a year ago and will never go back, the application is easy and it stays on all day. If your looking for a good liquid liner this is the best one i have come across!

This foundation is amazing, it gives a very matte finish which i like. It can feel quite heavy, but i don't wear this everyday. The consistency is lovely, it evens out really well. It does stay on all day and all night (even on a night out!). I use shade 'Fresco'.

This Benefit 'Low Profile' eyeshadow is a fab base coat for eyeshadow. I put it all over my lid, it looks so natural and just evens everything out.

I know everyone raves about Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer, but i do love it to! It really works, i wear it mostly on nights out and it really brings out my eyeshadow and keeps it in place all night. Even when i go to wash it off it's really hard to!

I wear my Too Faced Glamour To Go palette almost everyday, i only really use the brown eye shadows. The colours are beautiful, and the compact kit is great for your bag. It's really convenient and pretty.

I wear Rimmel Professional eyebrow pencil everyday, after having chicken-pocks as a child i must have scratched one on my eyebrow and now i have a little scar where the hair doesn't grow back, nothing major but my eyebrows need the pencil to make them even. I love how this one has a little brush on the lid to tame your eyebrows first.

M.A.C cremestick lip liners are fab, they glide on so smoothly and i think they give a more natural finish than normal lip pencils as they are easier to blend. I use 'Caramellow' which is a natural brown, probably too dark for me but it was the only one i could get hold of at the time.

I love Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, it is so lightweight. I wear it all summer as it never feels cakey or thick. You can barely feel it but it covers nicely, very thin but it evens out skin tone.

You are probably wondering where my favorite mascara is? Well, i don't have one :( I am yet to find a good mascara that doesn't flake on my face. Thank god for false eyelashes!  I wear them all the time and would put them before mascara any-day.

I hope you liked my top 12. Do you use any of these? I would love to see your top make-up products :)

Estee Lauder Double Wear

Purchased my favorite foundation (went down a shade from Tawny to Fresco, due to my paleness this winter!). I would recommend this foundation to anyone, especially if you are looking for a matte finish. It is quite a 'heavy' foundation but i don't really notice that once it's on. It really does give that airbrush finish. I got mine from Debenhams.

I decided to also buy a new foundation brush as my old ones weren't exactly high class! (and if i purchased two Estee Lauder products i would receive a free travel bag, haha i love free things!). This foundation brush is gorgeous, not only does it look pretty with its blue glass handle but it really does the job. It even's out my foundation perfectly.
