Hello! I'm Annie and I run a little blog called Time Enough For Drums.  As I'm sure you've guessed by now, I'm guest posting for Veronika whilst she enjoys a much-deserved vacation in Hong Kong.  (Let me just take this moment to mention how jealous I am!)

Veronika asked us to bring you travel-type posts, so I was glad to have the opportunity to show off some of my hometown, Washington, DC.  To be fair, I grew up in Northern Virginia, but I was born in the city, Georgetown to be exact!  On this particular perfectly-springy day, my family and I headed into the city to spend time at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, a part of the Smithsonian.  Washington, DC is home to some fabulous art history, from the portrait gallery, to I.M. Pei's sculpture outside the East Gallery, to the incredible architecture all around you.  The Hirschhorn Sculpture Garden is no exception.  We had quite a fun time snapping photos in the sculpture garden, even taking advantage of some of the mirror-like qualities of some of the glass sculptures that appear like double exposures in these photos.  Oddly enough, my siblings are featured in these photos, and I rarely (if ever) show photos of them on my own blog!  I couldn't resist with these, though!  Be sure to stop by the Hirshhorn if ever you're in Washington.

Explore your surroundings

Hello dear, Tick Tock Vintage readers! Tieka here from Selective Potential! I was so excited when Veronika asked me to do a guest post with a travel theme. One of my favorite things to do is travel and go on adventures, especially in my own home state. My husband, Brett, and I started to take trips around our state when we were on a limited budget in college... and the tradition carries on today. Every month, we make sure to take a day or weekend trip somewhere in our home state of Michigan. When we started, we honestly had no idea the things we would find and all of the trips we could take. Now we've taken so many trips and still have so many places to go. It's one of my favorite things to blog about - our adventures. So I encourage you guys to get out, explore your surroundings and take advantage of your home state!

I hope you enjoyed a peek into a few of the fun landmarks in Michigan! You can follow along with my adventures over at my blog, Selective Potential. Thanks for reading!
